Tirzepatide

Tirzepatide

Tirzepatide is a dual glucose-dependent insulinotropic peptide (GIP) and glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist. In nerve cells, tirzepatide exerts anti-apoptotic and pro-differentiation effects through the pAkt/CREB/BDNF cascade and miRNA; in the heart, it promotes BCAA degradation and inhibits the mTOR pathway by mediating BCKDHA dephosphorylation; simultaneously, it effectively reduces insulin and leptin levels and inflammatory responses systemically. Tirzepatide can be used in research on myocardial infarction, colon cancer, diabetes, diabetic cognitive impairment, neurodegeneration, diabetic neuropathy, and obesity.
